Visitors to the Hong Kong International Commercial Centre (ICC) "Sky100" Observation Deck can behold much of Hong Kong. yU+co.[lab} was asked to design and install multimedia content for the city’s highest building, encouraging people to visit the 360° panoramic deck and learn about the city’s rich heritage. ‘Hong Kong Fun Facts’ is a giant media wall made of seven plasma display panels, with a 3D abstract sculpture display video that illustrate various facets of Hong Kong. The telescope consists of day, night and even festive mode allows the visitor to see the city despite the unpredictable weather. From a colorful tunnel that projects recreations of history to the multi-touched ‘Itinerary Planner’ and the augmented reality photo booth, Sky100’s digital showcase embodies both the city’s innovations and legacies.
